First Lady Flowering Cherry is a deciduous tree with a strongly upright crown and striped bark.  Abundant deep rose pink flowers on red calyces bloom in early to mid spring that give way to red drupes. The dark green foliage turns orange, yellow, and bronze in fall. Flowers best in full sun and moist well-drained soils.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Medium Maintenance. Pests and diseases can be a problem.  Watch for aphids, scale, borers, caterpillars, beetles and spider mites. Potential diseases include leaf spot, dieback, leaf curl, powdery mildew, root rot, and fireblight.  Cherries have weak wood and are susceptible to breakage.
