All EVP TAPP Primary Clutch Calibrations available on this page are designed specifically for RZR XP Turbo/S models WITH AN EVP ECU POWER FLASH AND/OR BIG TURBO.

All EVP TAPP primary clutch kits include full standard weight kit as well as tungsten TAPP Clutch Race Weights (set of 8).

NEW EVP TAPP CLUTCH UPDATES (2024):
Don't think a TAPP clutch can be any smoother and more responsive than it already is? Think again. The all-new Roller Spider design for TAPP Primary Clutches replaces the original button spider assembly for instant power delivery due to the reduction in friction between the spider and movable sheave. This results in even better belt grip than before, lower belt temps, better belt life, and buttery smooth engagement that's guaranteed to keep your car dialed in any riding condition. The patent-pending TAPP Roller Primary Clutch is the next revolution in clutching technology.

UPDATED FEATURES:

  • ROLLER SPIDER DESIGN: creates less friction in the movable sheave compared to button spiders for a much more responsive setup
  • CENTER BEARING: NEW black nitrate coating (black finish) adds an extra layer of hardness, prevents rust corrosion, and reduces friction for even smoother clutch operation
  • LARGER ROLLER: roller size has been increased from 2mm to 3mm, making a huge difference in longevity of the clutch bearing particularly under high horsepower and harsh conditions
  • POST: updated with additional material and new heat-treating process, allowing the clutch to be over-torqued from factory specs by preventing the clutch from slipping on the shaft (necessary for high-horsepower builds and/or drag racing setups)
  • MOVEABLE SHEAVE: added material with the new roller spider design, reinforcing the clutch towers for greater load-bearing capabilities
  • CLUTCH COVER: the billet aluminum clutch cover now features larger "windows" to allow additional weight without having to modify the clutch cover

ORIGINAL FEATURES:
When it comes to the dark art of clutching, it takes more than a horsepower range to properly tune a clutch that meets your UTV's needs. With calibrations ranging from stock through all EVP Dynomite (DM) and Desert Storm (DS) turbo upgrades, EVP-Spec TAPP clutches are the most fine-tuned, responsive and dependable Polaris RZR primary clutches available. EVP TAPP Clutches are tuned to get the most out of your machine regardless of how or where you ride. Experience throttle response that pins your back to the seat, responsive power put down via excellent belt grip, and cooler clutch operating temps for enhanced belt and clutch life.

EVP TAPP Primary Clutches for Polaris RZR models are calibrated to be used specifically with the EVP STM Tuner Secondary Clutch, or the OEM secondary clutch with EVP internals including Shift-Tek Helix and Spring.

If you don't have an EVP turbo package or you're running a stock RZR, you can still enjoy all the benefits and performance of an EVP TAPP primary clutch. TAPP clutches are renowned for being incredibly easy to tune. EVP techs will calibrate your clutch to a specific horsepower level and desired RPM engagement, leaving the final fine-tuning to you.

All EVP TAPP primary clutch kits include full standard weight kit as well as tungsten TAPP Clutch Race Weights (set of 8).

  • DURABLE PERFORMANCE: Designed with the durability that high-horsepower UTV's demand, TAPP clutches are built from billet aluminum and other high-tech materials that can withstand extreme heat and extend clutch life so that you can spend more time riding and less time in the shop. EVP has used TAPP clutches on our all-out drag race Can Am X3 and Polaris XPT vehicles with very high engagement launches without failure. The OEM primary clutch is reliable up to about 300 hp, but an EVP Spec TAPP primary can easily handle anything from 200-500+ hp and all terrain and riding styles - drag race, duning, trail riding, rock crawling, short course and desert racing - all with the unrivaled quality, durability and performance expected out of a TAPP Clutch.
  • ADJUSTABLE & VERSATILE: TAPP clutches are a game-changer when it comes to tuning and adjustability, allowing your clutch to easily evolve as your UTV's power level evolves. The two-sided ramps are swapped in minutes with just an Allen wrench. The clickers are adjusted externally, which can raise or lower the entire shift pattern easily. The roller arms allow mass to be added or removed by removing the clutch cover, and there are a variety of TAPP and EVP primary springs available for fine-tuning. Lastly, the TAPP clutch is also extremely forgiving, allowing a wide variety of helix angles to work with a given primary clutch calibration.
  • COOLER TEMPS: TAPP primary clutches run cooler than any clutch on the market. High-tech materials, extensive venting for optimum airflow, and cooler belt temperatures thanks to the multi-angle curved sheaves all contribute to extending belt and overall clutch life‚ even under the most demanding abuse.
  • INSTANT THROTTLE RESPONSE: TAPP primary clutches are intended for customers that demand responsiveness and durability from their CVT drive system whether their UTV is relatively stock or all-out big turbo drag race trim. The centralized mass and lightweight, low-inertia design coupled with multi-angled curved sheaves and custom ramp angles deliver unbeatable belt grip, instantaneous throttle response and surefire power to the ground.
  • SMOOTH, QUIET OPERATION: The arms don't 'swing out' like a traditional flyweight but instead ride on a ramp system, which allows the clutch to be remarkably smooth and perform with minimal vibration. You will feel and hear the difference.

If you don’t have an EVP tune or turbo package, or you're running a stock machine, you can still enjoy all the benefits and performance of an EVP-Spec TAPP primary clutch. TAPP clutches are renowned for being incredibly easy to tune. EVP techs will calibrate your clutch to a specific horsepower level and desired RPM engagement, leaving the final fine-tuning to you.

Disclaimer: EVP ONLY offers Tech Support for EVP-Spec TAPP clutches purchased directly from EVP. All EVP Calibrated Tapp Clutch primaries may require minor calibration changes. If you need tuning support, please reference our instructions page or contact our technical department.

NOTES FOR RZR'S WITH P90X CLUTCH (2021 XP Turbo/S):

Fitment: 2016+ RZR XP Turbo & Turbo S (all models)

Calibration Guide:

There are 4 main adjustable components in an EVP Spec TAPP Clutch, these are:

Ramp Profile - Your TAPP clutch comes with a set of pre-chosen ramps that have been tested in many scenarios and have been deemed to be the most generic in most situations. Changing the angle or profile of the ramp will have many effects on the shift profile. This should only be done by an experienced tuner; you will likely not need to change this.

Ramp Angle - The ramp angle in your TAPP Clutch is adjustable from the outside via the use of the Quick Shift Bolts. As with other clicker style clutches, the higher the number, the higher the RPM. This will mainly affect the full shift speed but also affects the engagement and low speed slightly. IMPORTANT - Always adjust the ramp angle in pairs across from each other. If you do not, the clutch will be out of balance.

Roller Size - Your clutch was shipped with a predetermined roller size for your application. There are 3 sizes of rollers available: standard, 1mm oversize, and 2mm oversize. Bigger rollers make the low end "quicker RPM's" but shift out quicker and lower the full shift RPM. Smaller rollers make the engine slower shift and raise the full shift RPM. This has to do with the angle of the arms combined with the weight difference of the rollers. IMPORTANT - As with the ramp angle, roller size must be done in pairs across from each other. Failure to do so will result in an imbalance of the clutch and possibly failure.

Weight Adjustment - The weight in the arms can be adjusted in two ways: set screws in the arms, and washers on the roller thru bolt. As with all other clutches, add weight to lower RPM, remove weight to raise RPM. Set screws in the arms affect the low-speed shift points more than the high speed and will reduce the max RPM, and weight on the roller bolt acts like tip weight in a conventional clutch affecting the high speed more than any other part of the curve. Adjust this as needed for your application. IMPORTANT - As with all other adjustments, do this evenly and only in pairs across from each other, failure to do so will result in an imbalance of the clutch and possible failure.

"I ordered Christian fairy tales on the internet and they sent me Hans Christian Andersen ones by mistake!"---Ned Flanders
Format: Paperback
As was first done with "Simpsons Comics Hit The Road," "Simpsons Comics Get Some Fancy Book Learnin'" actually follows the theme of the title and cover art. All the comics have the Simpsons characters portraying figures in literature from Greek Mythology to Shakespeare. The longer comics are very well done but some of the shorter ones at the end fall flat. Still, I enjoyed this change of pace from the usual Simpsons comics. It offers a very clever use of characters. "Greek To Me"--Homer plays, well, Homer (the Greek poet) who tells four stories to a gathering of children. The first is "The Labors of Hercules" with Bart as Hercules. He only completed 10, but hey, 10 out of 12 is a B+ which is the best grade Bart ever got. In the second story, Homer is Hades who abducts Marge...er, Persephone...and is taken to court over it. In the third story, Selma is Medusa and Perseus (Bart) has to cut of her head or face 100 years detention. Finally, Homer tells a string of Aesop's Fables like "The Fox and the Grapes," "The Tortoise and the Hare," and--my favorite--"The Ant and the Grasshopper" where Homer is the grasshopper and Flanders is a hilarious-looking ant! There are a lot of clever lines in this one, especially Barney as Oedipus. "Pandora, Jr."--A 5-page comic with Lisa explaining the story of Pandora's Box to Maggie. Maggie doesn't learn the lesson. Fairy Tales--Ralph plays Humpty Dumpty in a 2-page short, then there are a string of Hans Christian Andersen tales that Lisa saves from the Flanders's book burning BBQ. Lisa reads the stories to Rod and Tod. There is "The Little Mermaid", "The Prince and the Pea" (featuring Smithers and Mr. Burns), "The Shadow" (featuring the Comic Book Guy), "Thumbelina", and "The Story of a Mother." My favorite is "The Ugly Duckling." I like the scene where Marge the swan takes in the ugly duckling Bart saying, "It's not like I haven't compromised before," while watching a fat Homer swan swigging beer and burping. Arabian Tales--Dunyazad (Marge) tells King Shahryar (Moe) stories to keep from being put to death. The first one is the best. Ned Flanders is Aladdin who finds a lamp containing an incompetent genie (Homer). His wishes grant him an all-you-can-eat buffet and go-go bar and an angry wife Maude brought from the dead in skeleton form. The other stories are "Apu Baba and the Four Thieves" and "Sinbart The Sailor." Shakespeare--Plays parodied are "Antony and Cleopatra," "Julius Caesar," "Henry V," "Romeo and Juliet," "The Two Gentlemen of Verona," "Richard III," "Titus Andronicus" (in Itchy and Scratchy cartoon form), and "King Lear." Most of these, in terms of punch lines, are pretty weak. Bible Stories--Bart tells Rod and Tod some Bible stories to calm them down after they find out Sunday School is canceled. The stories parodied are "The Prodigal Son," "Abraham's Sacrifice," and "Noah's Ark." These comics were, on the whole, funnier than the Shakespeare ones.

An enjoyable Simpson Comic
Format: Paperback
Now this is a fun book. It largely uses the same tv formula of irreverent humor to poke fun at the classics. The Simpsons and their extended family in Springfield play all the roles to perfection. The only thing that stops me from giving this a 5 star rating is that there are too many stories and they all seem slightly short and episodic.

A great way to introduce the classics to your kid
Format: Paperback
I mean it. It's very funny, yet introduces a number of important stories and characters from greek mythology and the Bible right though to Shakespeare. Will be funnier when my son reads the actual stories these are based on. A whole lotta compare and contrast will ensue, I imagine. I think it will pique his interest in the classics.

All around helpful---worth the money!
Format: Paperback
This guide has been most helpful for all the folks I help prepare for the iTEP test! It gives insight into what each section of the test is looking for along with examples and great tips about actually TAKING the test. In the Writing and Speaking sections, it also gives sample scores and comments from the Master Grader which is very helpful too.
