Elevate your data center power management with a metered rackmount PDU that pairs precise energy monitoring with flexible outlet access. The Black Box Metered Rackmount PDU is purpose-built for server rooms and network closets where visibility into current draw, reliable protection, and tidy cabling are essential. This unit puts critical load data at your fingertips through a clear LCD display, empowering IT teams to optimize capacity, prevent outages, and extend the life of valuable equipment. With front and rear outlet access, a compact 19-inch rack footprint, and a simple, one-button interface, this PDU delivers straightforward, dependable power distribution for densely loaded racks.

  • Real-time power monitoring at a glance: The built-in LCD display shows the current draw in amps, giving you an immediate read on load levels without needing external software or tools. This at-a-glance visibility helps operators quickly assess whether a circuit is approaching capacity and make informed decisions about scaling or redistributing hardware.
  • Alarmed protection to prevent overloads: The metered PDU is engineered to alert you when the load reaches 90% of its capacity, sounding an audible alarm at 13.5 amps. This proactive alert lets you take action before any risk of voltage drop, system instability, or unexpected downtime impacts critical devices.
  • One-touch MUTE control for maintenance ease: Located beside the LCD display, the MUTE button provides a simple way to silence alarms during routine maintenance or cable management without interrupting ongoing load monitoring. You still retain full visibility into amperage and overall power usage while the alert is muted.
  • Versatile front and rear outlet layout: The PDU offers outlets accessible from both the front and rear of the rack, supporting tidy cable management, improved airflow, and flexible connectivity for servers, switches, storage devices, and other equipment in dense rack environments.
  • Rack-ready design for standard data centers: Built for 19-inch rack installations, this metered PDU integrates smoothly into existing rack ecosystems. Its compact profile and durable construction produce reliable power distribution across a wide range of IT gear while maintaining a clean, professional rack appearance.

How to install Black Box Metered Rackmount PDU with Front and Rear Outlets

  • Power down equipment and plan your cabling layout before installing the PDU in the rack, ensuring that outlet distribution aligns with your device footprint and cable management strategy.
  • Mount the PDU into a standard 19-inch rack using the included mounting hardware. Confirm that the orientation allows convenient access to both front and rear outlets as required by your rack design.
  • Connect the PDU to an appropriate power source that meets your facility’s electrical specifications and supports the PDU’s load requirements. Verify circuit protection and breaker ratings match planning estimates for safe operation.
  • Route critical device power cables to the PDU’s front and rear outlets according to your organization’s cable management standards. Keep hot-air exhausting paths clear to maintain proper airflow and cooling efficiency.
  • Power on the equipment, verify that the LCD displays current draw accurately, and test the alarm by simulating an overload scenario if safe to do so. Confirm that pressing the MUTE button silences the audible alert without halting load monitoring.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What does the LCD display show?
A: The LCD provides a real-time reading of the current draw in amps, enabling quick assessment of how much load the PDU is carrying at any given moment.
  • Q: At what point does the alarm activate?
A: The audible alarm triggers when the current approaches 90% of the PDU’s capacity, which in this design corresponds to 13.5 amps, providing a clear signal to adjust loads before overloading occurs.
  • Q: How do I silence alerts?
A: Press the MUTE button located next to the LCD display. The alarm will stop sounding, while the PDU continues to monitor current and display the reading.
  • Q: Can I use this PDU in a mixed front/rear outlet setup?
A: Yes. The unit is designed with outlets accessible from both the front and rear of the rack to support flexible cabling configurations and efficient space usage in dense installations.
  • Q: Is this compatible with standard 19-inch racks?
A: Absolutely. The PDU is built for 19-inch rack mounting, aligning with typical data center and IT closet deployments for straightforward integration.

Yet another great set!
Format: Hardcover
Due to hurricane irma in my area, this set was delayed to me. I was also out of power for a while, but now I have power and I also got my package today! I did pre-order this set along with the elder scrolls online book set. The set itself is huge. Has that good old classic skyrim artwork in the front there and inside it has the dragon. It's held together by a magnetic clip, which I do always enjoy. Now let's get to the good stuff, the books themselves. These are basically re-published versions of the original skyrim library if you haven't already bought those separately. Right off the bat I will recommend this set to collectors, and anyone who loves elder scrolls lore. Book 1 Or should I say Volume 1 Is about the histories, which are the history of the land itself, a brief history about morrowind, and of course dragons. I for one was trying to collect an in game collection of books, but there is so many of them that it's simply easier to read this for the entire thing. All in all, the histories are pretty intriguing because most of the history explained in the game is usually through someone else's perspective. Overall a great read. Volume 2 is about Man, Mer and Beast. Which basically goes into every single detail about all the races in skyrim, along with their traditions and the way they live kind of thing. The beast section is just that, detailed information about the beasts of skyrim, their legends and how they are in the wild. The last 2 sections are about warfare and fractions. Fractions history that you may or may not know like the companions or whatever fraction you joined in game. And warfare which is about the art of warfare and it's stories. Volume 3 the last volume is about the arcane, basically magic in skyrim it's history, it's religion, and it's stories. Yep there is a lot of history behind magic in skyrim if they made a whole book about it. The last section is interesting that it talks about Aedra and Daedra, Which is like Angels and Devils in skyrim simple terms. I mean most of the daedra are unpredictable despite their evil nature in the game. Like that daedra prince who just wants drinking party's and such, or that other daedra who just enjoyes tricking people. Overall though they are supposed to be evil. If you summon one of those guys in town I think you get an instant bounty. Anyways, the history about it is very intriguing. The books themselves by the way are just fantastic. AAA quality right here, Nice to the touch as well as its engravings. As like for the elder scrolls online set, you do not have to worry about bending the pages because of the books design. Every page as always has some kind of illustration next to it, giving every page in all these books some life to it. Although this one is a lot more text heavy than the elder scrolls online lore books. This set is fantastic! I wish Bethesda created sets about the older lore like morrowind or oblivion, but that's just my opinion. If they ever did more books
