The floating isles of Ankar are kept afloat by a mysterious energy known as “Source”, but when it becomes clear this resource is not limitless, tensions rise. They deteriorate further when the islands begin crashing into one another, bringing nation-states into direct conflict. War erupts between formerly peaceful factions with each island’s precious supply of Source at the center of it all. The Joining War has begun!

Four factions take center stage in the conflict. The brawnen rely on their industry and formidable strength to outpace any opposition, and their lengthy history of martial endeavors is matched only by the enhanced abilities of their forsaken warriors. The grovetenders—once an introverted and peaceful race—now weave their harmony with nature into fearsome constructs that threaten anything on the battlefield. Stratified by a caste system, the heirs believe it their birthright to control Ankar, and what they lack in strength they make up for with highly-trained aerial squadrons. Lastly, the narora’s reverence for Source has made them fanatical worshippers and warriors; their ultimate wish to join this power produces unstable and powerful fighters.

Fight for supremacy in Ankar as each faction desires control of Source. Construct spires, upgrade your fortress, and march units relentlessly onward until your opponent’s fortress crumbles and falls from the floating realm forever! Effective use of the scarce Source will determine which faction waxes and which wanes, so carefully distributing power between spires, units, and fortresses is key. Find the faction that will win you Ankar, and bring the other warring nation-states to heel!

Cloudspire offers multiple ways to play, with robust solo and cooperative scenarios for players who aren’t looking to engage in PvP contests for control of Ankar. These three modes allow players to fully explore each faction, and the pursuit of different winning objectives provides continual variety in your game sessions. Your decisions will decide the victor of the Joining War!
