Cragganmore stamt af van een 'grote rots' in het Gaelic en is een kleine distilleerderij in de grootste en beroemdste whiskyregio van de Schotse Hooglanden. Cragganmore Distillery is in 1869 opgericht door John Smith. Daarvoor was hij de manager van Macallan, Glenlivet. John Smith ontwierp de distilleerderij rond de distilleervaten met een platte bovenkant om complexe smaken te kunnen maken. Het is een echte designer malt. De single malt is 3 keer bekroond met een gouden medaille. Cragganmore heeft zoete bloemige noten met vleugjes houtrook, kruiden, vanille en granen. Over Cragganmore werd door een van de beroemdste en meest invloedrijke Schotse whiskymakers (Michael Jackson) gezegd dat het "het meest complexe aroma van alle malts" had. Serveer puur of met ijs in een tumbler of tulpglas om smaak te concentreren en voeg een scheutje water toe om meer van zijn complexiteit vrij te krijgen.
