Een RedTed replica van de roze trui van de Giro d'Italia uit 1973. Deze strak gesneden roze koerstrui werd gedragen door Eddy Merckx. Hij won vijf maal de Giro, waarvan drie keer voor Molteni.

Sinds 1931 is de leider van het algemeen klassement van de Giro d'Italia herkenbaar aan een roze trui. De kleur roze is gekozen omdat dat de kleur was waarop de krant La Gazzetta dello Sport - de initiatiefnemer - werd gedrukt. De roze koerstrui is inmiddels een icoon geworden, het symbool voor de emoties, passie en stijl van de Giro en het Italiaanse wielrennen.

De wielerploeg Molteni nam als eindwinnaar 4 keer de roze trui mee naar huis. In 1966 won Gianni Motta de roze trui en in 1972, 1973 en 1974 won Edouard Louis Joseph Merckx voor Molteni de roze trui. Eddy Merckx won overigens in totaal vijf keer de Giro d'Italia. In 1968 en 1970 won hij de roze trui voor FAEMA. Alleen de Italiaanse Fausto Coppi en Alfredo Binda wonnen ook vijf maal de Giro d'Italia.
