Having the Base Station close to the machine, reduces GPS system errors (like drifts) and increases accuracy and repeatable. Increased accuracy and repeatability are important in applications where GPS drift is not tolerable, such as bedded and permanent row-crops. For the Base Station signal to reach the machine, a direct line-of-sight between the machine and Base Station is essential.
